I have done that once when i was at work i was meditating as well and suddenly i burst into laughter, fortunately i work in a machine shop and only two people heard me or i may have been called to someones office lol. Anyway i felt like i had realized something but i could not name it. It was a feeling which caused me to laugh. And i have no idea what it means. But i have been told that spontanious laughter sometimes follows spiritual wisdom.Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone ?
Laughter always has a cause. You might not think it is a very good or appropriate one, but there is always either an external or internal trigger for it.





I know what you mean though, and the question is valid metaphorically. Sure, people who are just laughing to themselves without a perceived cause (by us) might be either insane or just very lucky to be happy for no apparent reason. Yet there is always a cause - if there was no physical cause one would simply not laugh.





I guess if someone laughs all the time for no reason he or she suffers from a chemical imbalance. Is that the true meaning of happiness? Perhaps. =P
Yes, probably.


But to find true happiness you must delve into a part of yourself where you no longer care about what others will think or see of you, and that makes you, in other's sight, stark raving mad for going outside of the social norms and thoughts that will never make anyone truly happy.
when a mad man is told he crazy, he reacts as we do. when he is told something that makes perfect sense, he regards it as we do something that seems totally nuts. to him, reality looks like nonsense.








the answer is: both. those people have found the true source of happiness... sanity..
It is impossible to laugh without a cause. Something must cause a laugh or there would be no laugh, whether is be happiness or craziness, there is a cause.
