Is it true that drooling means your baby is teething?

My daughter is 2.5 months and is drooling sooo much!! She is also chewing on her hand and kinda crying for no reason once in a while. I was wondering in your OPINION do you think she is teething. Is teething the only cause of drooling. Is it true that drooling means your baby is teething?
MY KIDS BOTH STARTED TEETHING AT AROUND THREE MONTHS YEAH BY WHAT UR SAYING CHEWING CRYING IF THEY HAVE ROSY RED CHEEKS THAT'S A ANOTHER SIGN GET SOME BONJELLA TEETHING GEL AND KEEP SOME COLD TEETHING RING HANDY PANADOLE THAT'S A LIFE SAVER ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DON'T WANNA GO TO SLEEP GOOD LUCK I FOUND WHEN THEY TEETH THAT'S WHEN ALL THE FUN STARTSIs it true that drooling means your baby is teething?
Just because your baby is drooling doesn't necessarily mean she is teething. Althouth, it does tend to be the first sign of teething. It also depends on how old she is, my baby sister is 6 months old and has already got two teeth and she has and still does drool a lot. My cousin also has a baby that is 7 months old and she drools all the time and doesn't have any teeth. Other symptoms of teething is mild fever, constantly chewing on something, and will cry a little more because a tooth is coming in.
I just asked my ped this, my daughter is 4 months, but developmentally 2 months per she was 9 wks early. my daughter just discovered her hands a few weeks ago and ever since they are in her mouth and she has slobber all over her face, lol. she has a rash from it even. but the ped says she will do this drool and chew on her fingers, but usually wouldnt cut a tooth for another 4 months.
Wow, my daughter is almost exactly the same age born July 9th. She is doing the same thing! Only once in a blue moon do we get a random off the wall cry that baffles us, but I have noticed her eating her hand a little more often and she is a HUGE drooler and bubble maker LOL.

She could certainly be teething. My son was a drool machine from early on, but didn't cut his first tooth until he was 6 months!

My Dr also told me some kids just drool more than others. Its just the way it is........
teething is definatley not the only cause of drooling...

she could be teething but i wouldnt expect teeth too soon. sometimes teeth can push up and retract a few times before they acctually cut through the gums.
Not necessarily. My oldest has been a drool-monster since he was a couple months old. He didn't cut his first tooth until about 8 or 9 months.

He's now 2 1/2, and he still drools all the time!
