why or why not?
i personally think christmas is starting to lose its meaning.
because it seems all anybody does is ask for christmas presents. and most presents are not heart felt anymore.
well if you think im wrong explain.
im just saying this because it just seems like an intresting questionDo You Think Christmas Has Lost Its True Meaning?
Christmas hasn't lost its true meaning...however more things are added to Christmas that aren't really necessary.
Almost everybody knows that the reason we have CHRISTmas in the first place is because of the birth of Jesus CHRIST. It would be better if the real meaning of Christmas was more recongized.
And the gifts.
Many people do just ask for Christmas presents, but there are people out there who loves to give gifts. Sure, getting gifts is fun, but seeing the happiness you give a person after getting a present is even better. That's a present of its own.
Merry Christmas Everybody!Do You Think Christmas Has Lost Its True Meaning?
I agree that in a sense Christmas has lost it's meaning. When I was younger I always used to love Christmas! I still do, and it's still a faithful tradition to me. Although, I have noticed in growing up that I talk to people and ask what their holiday plans are. More and more people are telling me they don't do anything for Christmas. Now, I'm not a very religious person, but I do think of Christmas as a time of giving and fellowship. Personally, I think long and hard about the gifts I get people. I'm very particular. Every year though I see some of the gifts that are given to myself and others, and you can really tell that they put no thought into it. They merely bought you something out of obligation. It's like no one wants to buy for people anymore. I personally think I enjoy giving just as much if not more than receiving. I love to pick out a gift I know someone will love. However, I guess Christmas doesn't have to mean the same thing to everyone. Some think it should only be about Christ and his birth. Others view it as a time to give and receive. Some think of it as an opportunity to spend more time with family. Others think of it as a time to vacation and escape their everyday lives. Although it seems like Christmas is somewhat losing its meaning, you can't really dictate everyone's meaning for them. To each their own. I believe that the holidays should be a time of happiness. Everyone has a different source of happiness. Well happy holidays!
Well, it depends on how you view it.
Maybe in today's society, it does seem that we really have lost the rue meaning of Christmas. But that doesn't mean it's been lost entirely.
Many people still celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
Just because other people now interpet it as just another exscuse to get or give presents, doesn't mean that everyone is like that.
Christmas will never lose it's true meaning.
I believe, and hope others do to, that the real meaning of Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. People have humanized the holiday, making it about greed and gifts, when the real reason is Jesus. I guess I agree with you, because so many people celebrate to receive, not because of the real reason

merry christmas!
Yes. The true meaning of Christmas is John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He GAVE His Son as a gift to us. Celebrating the Lord's birth is the true meaning of Christmas - not Santa Claus and going into debt to buy presents.
The true meaning is there for those that celebrate it by thanking God for His gift to the world - the Lord Jesus Christ; and by receiving God's GIFT of eternal life, that He GIVES through His son, Jesus.
Merry Christmas.
Yes I believe most people should spend their x-mas helping someone or a family that does not have the means to have the basic needs let alone something that may be called a x-mas celebration.
Try
blankets to a homeless shelter
coats for those that do not have one
collecting for a food shelf
shoveling an older persons walkway
giving someone a ride to get groceries
Small ideas can make you feel great!
yes, I think christmas has lost it's meaning for example the questions that are heard frequently are about presents even though the one who should be getting presents is jesus since we are celebrating his birth.
What I mean on giving him a present is doing something he will appreciate some kind of good deed.
Yes, I think Christmas has lost it's meaning. Everyone is just to concerned about getting gifts they forget what Christmas is all about. We are supposed to be surround by the people who love us and the people we love to celebrate the birth of Christ. I honestly don't think people should waste a lot on presents when it is Christ's birthday not theirs. But i won't lie I do enjoy getting to receive them. But I also love to give. I love to spread joy to the community and get everyone into Christmas. After all the greatest gift is the gift of friendship. And you should celebrate Christ with your friends. After all.. That's what Christmas is all about.. Isn't it?
definitly. for my religion, christmas is about the birth jesus. but now its become more of a commercial thing. and what really makes me sad is that christmas is the season of miracles and the time when people are caring and thoughtful and nice to one another. now, those things just dont seem to matter anymore.
Yes it has and it has for a Looooooong time now, Years!
It also happens as we grow up and Mature but, for the Moist part, sadly People have LOST the 'true' meaning of CHRISTMAS!
Well you just have to stay up Christmas eve and watch ';Rudy'; and ';A Christmas Story'; and drink hot chocolate and give your money to homeless people (Secret Santa http://www.secretsantaworld.net/ )
I think is has lost it meaning because all you do is get the presents and done that was christmas
i mean..mabey its just YOUR family that has lost its meaning,.
but honestly,,how long has it been since people just DIDNT care about presents..that is a BIG part of christmas.
Yeah, it has.
