An atheist is a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings. That means they do not believe in God at all. Not all atheists were raised as such. Many were exposed to a form of religion and at one time believed in God. However, serious health or family problems or certain injustices they experienced weakened their faith. For others, courses taught in schools of higher learning have had a negative impact on their concept of God.What does it mean to be a true athiest. No crap answeres please?
If you really were a true Atheist at one time, you wouldn't need an answer, dear one. Not a put-down, but a truth. An Atheist carries no faith in any sort of God or Divine Entity, perfering to place his/her faith in the provable. Rather than accept things uncritically (to ';take it on faith';) an Atheist questions all, sorting things out with a mixture of critcal thought and principled thinking. That's pretty much it! No cults. No songs. No gatherings once or more a week. No one book to read. We don't slaughter cats or worship the devil (although there's a group of ';fake'; Atheists who claim allegience to Satan... although I really don't see how you can have one without the other). Most of the time, the only way to tell who's who is to ask.
Atheist: One who believes god does not exist.
Nothing more, nothing less.
It means I don't believe any gods exist.
Just means that you don't have any god belief, be it Yahve, Allah, Zeus, or Quetzalcoatl.
Most atheist don't worry about labels. Some atheist activly promote an anti-religious agenda but most don't. They don't believe in God.
It means that you think all thing are of this physical world and nothing of the spiritual world exists.
Not to believe in any sort of deity. Some atheists engaged in some new age secular spirituality to get some comfort, they're not true atheists. Some become Buddhists because Buddhists don't worship a God, they follow Buddha's teachings who was a man just like any other from India. They're not true atheists. A true atheist doesn't join any type of organization that resembles a religion.
am athiest doesn't believe in any higher power. an aithest might believe in science, but only the explainable parts not the supernatural (which is very scientific).
