some greek words have ten or twenty different meanings to choose from, so which is right ,which is false.?Translating from english to greek is this a fair devise to coming up with a true meaning of scripture.?
Well the first answer is just worthless to you. ';the spirit of the words lives on'; well if you don't know what the words mean so much for knowing what the spirit of the words is, huh?
Yes going back to the greek is helpful but as you pointed out not entirely conclusive in each example. Same with Hebrew... helpful but not always the best answers can be gleaned form ancient languages. But its better than trusting the current translations.Translating from english to greek is this a fair devise to coming up with a true meaning of scripture.?
I dont think a further interpretation would help at all.
Even texts that claim to be original are only greek translated from the KJV.
My belief is that the actual wording is now lost to us and only the spirit of the words lives on.
an english-greek lexicon and concordance helps with study ...
